About TEN
TEN: Together Ending Need works to ensure every Jew struggling to make ends meet has their basic needs met and can live a thriving Jewish life. We mobilize funders, support Jewish organizations, and lead national narrative change efforts so that financially vulnerable Jews are supported and prioritized. We partner closely with Jewish funders and national organizations across the ecosystem. TEN began as a project of The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation and the Jewish Funders Network.

Position Overview
TEN is hiring a Program Manager to help advance our next stage of strategic growth. This role will work directly with TEN’s Executive Director, Rachel Sumekh, to support and educate funders, lead trainings for Jewish organizations, and help execute core programmatic initiatives emerging from TEN’s landscape scan and new strategic plan.

This is an ideal role for someone who is organized, mission-driven, and excited to work across the philanthropic and nonprofit landscape to make Jewish life more accessible and equitable. The candidate is collaborative, a self-starter, and really trying to make a direct impact in the lives of vulnerable communitties.

Key Responsibilities

Program & Project Management

  • Manage and execute programmatic initiatives across the TEN portfolio, from funder convenings to organizational trainings.

  • Support the rollout of TEN’s Landscape Scan and Strategic Framework. 

  • Coordinate multi-stakeholder projects with funders, agencies, consultants, and partners.

  • Track progress toward milestones, handle logistics, and ensure smooth execution of events, webinars, trainings, and meetings.

Funder Engagement & Education

  • Help design and facilitate funder convenings, briefings, and small-group sessions.

  • Draft materials, case studies, presentations, and follow-ups to deepen funder understanding and investment.

  • Support segmentation and stewardship of TEN’s funder network (not a fundraising role).

Training & Capacity-Building for Jewish Organizations

  • Co-create and deliver trainings, workshops, and consulting sessions to help Jewish organizations better support low-income and financially vulnerable Jews.

  • Develop guides, workshop content, and tools to equip communal professionals.

  • Support learning groups for Jewish professionals.

Research, Writing & Communications

  • Translate data and insights from research partners into accessible materials for funders and practitioners.

  • Draft newsletters, memos, toolkits, and narrative change resources.

  • Support preparation for national conferences (Jewish Funders Network, NJHSA PowerNET, JFNA General Assembly, JPro, etc.).

General Support

  • Assist with note-taking, follow-up, and operational support as needed in a start-up-style environment.

  • Maintain strong internal systems for project tracking and documentation.

  • This role is highly collaborative and works very closely with TEN’s Executive Director, Rachel Sumekh who will support, mentor, and train the Program Manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in program management, project management, training, philanthropic, or Jewish communal sector.

  • Strong project management skills and adherence to timelines.

  • Experience managing multi-step projects with many stakeholders.

  • Experience developing or leading trainings, campaigns, workshops, or educational programming.

  • Strong writing and communication skills— clear, concise, and adaptable to different audiences.

  • Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and thrive in a fast-moving, evolving environment.

  • Familiarity with and experience working in the Jewish community, with a commitment to supporting its diversity and expansion.

  • Located anywhere in the U.S. Reporting to a manager based in Los Angeles.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $75,000–$84,000, commensurate with experience.

  • Remote role with occasional travel for convenings and conferences. If you’re Los Angeles-based, you’ll have the opportunity to work from an office 1-2 times a week for key team meetings.
