This high holiday season, many of us will be sitting in pews of our synagogues, calculating if we can afford to maintain our membership over the next year.

This is not a reflection of how much we care about our community. When finances are tight, as they are for at least 29% of Jewish households across the country, engagement in Jewish life is often the first expense to be cut from the budget.

This High Holiday season, TEN has developed a guide for meaningful text studies to examine what Judaism teaches us about poverty and economic vulnerability.

We hope you will use it to spark discussions within your communities to help those who are struggling feel seen and supported, and move you to action to create a community that is welcoming to Jews of all income backgrounds.
