TEN envisions a world where every Jew,
regardless of their income,
has their basic needs met & can live a thriving Jewish life
Founded in 2019, TEN is coordinated by Jewish Funders Network and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation. TEN inspires funders to invest in organizations that bolster communal support systems to ensure that every Jew has food, dignified employment, safe housing and health services—and a lifeline of support when financial crisis strikes.
In 2023, TEN hired Rachel Sumekh to lead the initiative.
In 2026, TEN expanded its work to engage more funders and consult for Jewish nonprofits interested in better serving financially vulnerable Jews.

Our Team
TEN is currently led by CEO Rachel Sumekh, the organization’s first full-time staff person.
We’re hiring for a Program Manager who would serve as our second employee.
In addition, we work with incredible funders who serve as thought partners and contractors who help increase our capacity.
